Matt has been dreaming about playing on the PGA Tour since he was 10 years old.
He is now 26 years-old and has begun his professional golf career after four successful years of college golf at University of California, Davis. While attending UC Davis, Matt received many accolades, including Male Athlete of the Year for the University in 2014. He set the lowest single season stroke average (70.57) as well as the lowest career stroke average in Aggie history (71.94). During his senior season, Matt was a career record-breaking medalist 10 times for his team. He finished his college career with three wins, which included a Big West Conference Championship and NCAA Regionals his Freshman year. He was also named a Ping All-American during his freshman and senior years. Matt managed all these athletic achievements while earning a degree in Economics.
Matt’s work ethic and desire to succeed will be instrumental in his quest for a spot on the PGA tour.
With the help of his current swing coach, Don Parsons, Matt has improved on a yearly basis. Throughout his junior golf and amateur golf career, he accomplished many things. He participated in 5 USGA events including qualifying for the U.S. Amateur 4 years in a row. His resume is filled with numerous top tens and top fives and is highlighted by his wins, which include the State Fair Amateur in record-setting fashion when he fired a 199 to win by one.
